making it work

A MWD update to share with you all: I’ll be teaching a knitting workshop in a few short weeks!

I’m thrilled to be joining Kathleen and Ann, the fantastic owners of The Village Knitter in Babylon, NY on Sunday, September 22nd from 1 – 3 PM for an afternoon of making it work with your knitting!

Wonder what I mean when I say “making it work”? Just check out the workshop description:

In this 2 hour workshop you will learn how to manipulate patterns and yarn choices to suit your next project. If you have asked yourself any of the following questions:

–Which yarns should I choose for this pattern?
–How do I use simple math skills to manipulate this pattern & better suit my yarn choice?
–Is there a way to upsize or downsize this accessory pattern to fit either a size concern or a yardage issue?
–I’ve got xyz yarn in my stash …. now what?

Then this is the workshop for you!

Haven’t we all been there before? We either have the pattern or the yarn we want in our hands, and now we need to find the yarn or the pattern to suit. Our goal in the workshop is to bring those two things together and knit something fabulous, maybe even from the treasures already patiently waiting in your yarn stash. To that end, the materials list is short and sweet: pencil, paper, and a reliable calculator.

So if you’re free that afternoon and are looking to take control of your patterns and your yarn, then come join us, won’t you?

To get all of the workshop details and to sign up, hop on over to the Village Knitter’s website or give them a call at (631) 321-7378. Also, as a workshop participant, you’ll also be getting a 10% discount on purchases made during the workshop!

And of course I’ll be bringing samples and MWD patterns and coupon codes to get those MWD patterns at a discount…. 😉
