Forestry Runner

forest1

As temperatures drop and the light wanes beyond your door, set the mood for wintry festivities at home with this elegantly rustic runner that features a traditional fir cone lace motif flanked by a fir-and-diamond lace pattern and a simple, textured seed stitch border.

The finished size is approximately 10” wide and 40” long, but this is also a fabulous one-skein project that can be adjusted depending on the amount of yardage available. The runner is worked in two pieces and grafted in the center.

Materials:

any amount of fingering weight yarn; sample shown uses Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% merino singles; 420 yards per 100 grams), 1 skein in “Moorland” colorway; US 3 needles; one stitch holder; one yarn needle.

Gauge:

6 sts / 8 rows = 1 inch in lace pattern after blocking
