I’ve been swatching a lot lately for a fun new scarf design (before our “winter” weather runs out) that is big on both texture and gauge. For whatever inexplicable reason, this design is insisting on calling herself “Agnes” in my mind, a name that I associate, also inexplicably, with an impossibly chic Parisian girl from 1930-ish. I swear, I have no idea where these names and images come from, but so be it – call it creative license!
The yarn is Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, a super-chunky blend of wool and acrylic, in a very sophisticated light taupe shade dubbed “linen.” I’m using size US 13 needles, and as you can see, the resulting fabric is a lush landscape of cables and ribs, twists and turns, knits and purls, all rendered with plump stitches.
Happy weekend, everyone – hope it’s a relaxing and creative one!
I’m digging Agnes! Really loving that cable right on the edge of the garment.
thanks, chica! 🙂
Definitely interesting. I like the Wool Ease yarn too. Very soft and warm.
