…and the perfect weather to make my own birthday cake, a day in advance.
Nigella Lawson’s Chocolate Gingerbread may never win any beauty prizes, but it will win every ooey-gooey-chocolatey-spicey-sticky-finger-licking-good-cake prize instead, and honestly, isn’t that just as good? 🙂
Perfect Saturday.
What great pictures…wonderful composition ! Our snow in Boise has turned to rain, and all to the good for driving, but it is still snowing “on the mountain” so the skiiers, who have been painfully patient for months, are thrilled.
The recipe was just what I was looking for, something sweet and different and chocolate, of course. Happy Birthday !
I like the “GREEN” Boots, Almost the color of an antique John Deere tractor. Perhaps those worn by a farm girl from down town Avon, NY. Nice to see that the city gets to share some of those fine white particals that are hiding from upstate this year. Hope to see you folks sometime when your visiting the old homestead. Enjoy the snow, Peter
PS: Happy Birthday.
Thanks Peter! Sadly, the snow melted almost as soon as it came, but at least I was able to trudge around in it in my trusty green boots at least once 🙂
Snowy neighborhood…especially the children sledding…? PERFECT…!!! Chocolate gingerbread…PERFECTER…!!! Relish the day and the food…XO
So, there is now a smile on your face? You got the snow you were wishing for. We got about 5-6″ of the white stuff. Finally enough for my son to have fun playing with the new snow blower. LOL
Enjoy the flakes now, because I hear rain is being forecast for tomorrow.
